I am a creative professional. The process of creation elates me. I honor this inner compulsion primarily because I enjoy the process. It is fun making things. My favorite role of art is as a shared experience. Art offers a reason to come together and keeps us connected.
I operated a Fina Art Gallery at the landmark The Torpedo Factory for almost a decade. This Art Center in Alexandria VA. attracts approximately 500,000 visitors annually. Direct interactions with clients required excellent communication skills to engender trust and cultivate respect while selling my one-of-a-kind art.
I have a BFA in graphic design. As a designer I have developed print and web-based graphics for direct marketing and communications campaigns for small and large organizations such as National Geographic & Visa. I have excellent multitasking skills. I am also a natural problem solver with independent curiosity and a desire for learning. I am fluent in Spanish and English.
I find joy in thinking that I am helping to shape someone’s ways to see the world. As an educator I love that eureka moment when a student creates something marvelous of seeing and develops her/his own style. My dynamic curriculums are focused on independent thinking and self-expression. I taught as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC and I am currently teaching at The Art League of Alexandria VA. My areas of focus in teaching are Ceramic Surface Design Techniques, Hand-building Clay Artwork, & Making Ceramic Tiles
